Surfer and actor Tamayo Perry has died after being attacked by a shark while surfing in Hawaii.
The 49-year-old died on Sunday afternoon after being attacked on the East Side of Oahu, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported.
Ocean Safety personnel posted shark warnings in the area following the attack, said Honolulu Emergency Medical Services spokeswoman Shayne Enright.
Perry was a well-known surfer and lifeguard, and his acting resume included roles in "Blue Crush" and "Hawaii Five-0."
In a biography shared on his surfing website, Perry said he was born in Santa Cruz, California, and started surfing at age 5. He moved to Hawaii in 1991 and became a lifeguard in 1995.
